HISTORY
TNT is use world wide, but the most common use is an explosive for the military and industrial applicaitions. It is the most common type of detonate because of its ability to avoid shock and friction. It also has a lower melting point than its counter parts such as nitroglycerin, this reduces the risk of a pre-mature detonation.
It was first made in 1863 by a German chemist named Julius Wilbrand and was originally used as a yellow dye. It was know to be explosive but it was incredibly hard to detonate opposed to alternatives at the time. However in 1902 the German armed forces filled artillery shells and also armor piercing rounds that explode when inside British armor.
